PGF MATCH HISTORY
PGF XP: A Detailed Overview
PGF XP is a proprietary rating system designed specifically for the Professional Grappling Federation. It assigns each competitor a numerical score that reflects their current performance level. Here’s how it works in a nutshell:
• Dynamic Performance Tracking:
Every athlete starts with an initial baseline score. As matches are played, this score is updated to reflect recent performance. Wins, losses, and even ties influence your score, ensuring that the rating is always a snapshot of your current form.
• Context Matters:
Not all matches are created equal. PGF XP factors in the context of each match—such as the event type (playoffs, regular season, or qualifiers), how recent the match was, and which season it belongs to. For instance, winning a high-stakes playoff match boosts your score more than winning a lower-stakes qualifier, while losses in less critical events might be penalized less harshly.
• Motivational Boosts:
To keep the system engaging, we’ve built in a win bonus for key matches (except for qualifiers). This means that when you win an important match, you not only gain points based on the outcome but also receive an extra boost—making the progress feel more rewarding.
• Continuous Evolution:
PGF XP is designed to adjust continuously as new match data comes in. Whether you’re a seasoned competitor or someone who has only played one match, the system updates your rating to reflect your performance. This ensures that every athlete who has ever competed gets a fair, updated score.
